Atherton v Pringle
In his latest column, Michael Atherton wonders about England's absence of spin options. But he evidently hasn't read his fellow columnist Derek Pringle's praise for England's quick bowling attack which caused so many problems for Australia last year.
Is England's fast-bowling quartet the equivalent of the West Indies of the 1980s, a period in which their dominance was absolute?So Athers goes on to totally rubbish any such claims by saying
But they were one of the great teams in the history of the game, and not even the most ardent England supporter would argue that Stephen Harmison, Andrew Flintoff, Simon Jones and Matthew Hoggard are a match for Malcolm Marshall, Andy Roberts, Michael Holding and Wayne Daniel.
