    Hat-trick saviour

In the context of Irfan Pathan's extraordinary hat-trick on the first day at Karachi, Mike Selvey recounts a hat-trick that never was and dramatically reveals that he was the batsman who was dropped by Greenidge at Old Trafford in 1976 off Roberts.

I recall Shane Warne dropping an absolute sitter offered by Srinath off Damien Fleming at Adelaide in 1999. The previous ball, Agarkar had scored a first-ball duck, which was only a precursor of things to come.

"the current hoo-ha about Ganguly's right to retain his place is masking another, potentially more devastating decline - that of Sachin Tendulkar, who has been around for as long as Australia have held the upper hand over England, and whose appetite for the fight is arguably on the wane."
