Graeme Smith in freefall and Steve Waugh on Trevor Hohns

Graeme Smith's batting average has slipped nearly 4 points (53.64 to 49.77) in the space of five tests, all against Australia. The first test was at Perth and the last one was at Durban.

Given that the score stands at 5-0 between the two teams across 6 tests, he, and the rest of his team, would be much better off batting and bowling well rather than depend on their glib tongues.

Meanwhile, Australia need to go find a new chairman of selectors. Trevor Hohns resigned to concentrate on his business. Last year, Allan Border quit as a selector.

Steve Waugh, who didn't see eye to eye with Hohns on a number of issues, writes in his column about how he was disappointed with the lack of proper & timely feedback existing and fringe players received.

Previous posts involving Hohns: Warne's ODI comeback, Lehmann's status, Hohns' googlies and a chat with him on selection matters.
