ICC Champions Trophy groupings nearly finalized

Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will battle it out to earn the right to join either Australia, India & England or South Africa, Pakistan & New Zealand in the 2006 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, proudly brought to you by the BCCI.

The top two teams from each group then play two semi-finals. I assume that if A1, A2, B1 & B2 are the top 2 from each group, A1 would play B2 and A2 would play B1 in the two semis. The winners (obviously!) play in the final.

There're only two problems with this tournament: No one knows who plays what where and the official website is doing its best imitation of Rip van Winkle. As of now, the last update there is of the thrilling chase by West Indies to win the tournament in 2004.

Ganesh promptly saved this screenshot, just in case someone actually does wake up and update the site.

Top irony this. The previous edition's winner may not even make it to the final eight. It'd have been even more deliciously ironic had Sri Lanka not messed up their last few one-day games. England would have been out too and we'd have had the previous edition's runner-up in a qualification situation as well!
