    Harmison out of final test

Steve Harmison has been forced to miss the final test starting on Saturday, March 18, at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai due to problems with his shin. It is likely that the same problem had resulted in him bowling only four overs as India chased down 144 at Mohali.

Lest it be forgotten, England are currently without Ashley Giles, Michael Vaughan, Marcus Trescothick, Simon Jones ... and any hope!

This means England have to pick two from Ian Blackwell, James Anderson, Shaun Udal and Liam Plunkett.

Reports of David Gower, Ian Botham, Geoff Boycott, Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton checking out cricketing whites at a sports store in Mumbai are apparently exaggerated, at this point in time!

It has to be Anderson and Plunkett. They can probably cut the ball further than Udal or Blackwell will spin it anyway.

geoff: How low on confidence would Anderson actually be? I remember until two years ago, he was the blue eyed boy. That brilliant performance in the World Cup against Pakistan was followed by a 5fer on debut against South Africa and then a ODI hat-trick. After that ... all down-hill!
