    Collingwood's wrong assumption

Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Paul Collingwood wrote
We shouldn't look at our bowling when they came to bat. You can't expect to knock the last three batsmen out for less than 20 anymore and they fought back well.
Paul, it seems to me that India, and Anil Kumble in particular, didn't quite subscribe to that assumption. England's lower order went from 283/5 to 300 all out at Mohali.

Collingwood famously wrote in his column before England's series against Pakistan that a 3-0 result would be nice. The actual result was marginally different.

I wish Paul Collingwood would come out and say that Ashley Giles won't be fit for the one-dayers ;) Does Duncan Fletcher approve of the comments that he continues to make? I know Dravid probably won't read his articles (or that the Indian Team don't sit around Greg Chappell and laugh as he reads them to him) but it must annoy him when the comments get analysed after the series.

Heh. Actually I'm not even sure Paul knows those comments are being written. He perhaps reads his column on the BBC Sport site :) Perhaps his ghost-writer has an axe to grind ...
