Fleming and Laxman replace Tendulkar in Lord's game

Further proof was obtained that one Tendulkar is equal to two quality international batsmen when Fleming and Laxman were drafted in to fill Tendulkar's role in the charity game at Lord's for victims of the tsunami which hit the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004.

Tendulkar, who was to have captained the MCC XI at Lord's, has been replaced by VVS Laxman. This is because he underwent surgery to rectify the recent problems he has had with his elbow.

Tendulkar also missed the charity game at the MCG earlier this year and, along with Steve Waugh, reconciled himself to being a ball-boy. Perhaps he just doesnt like these pointless charity games?!

The irony is that Laxman, who has been dropped from the Indian one-day side, perhaps for good, finds himself playing for what is effectively a World XI!

So, who would lead MCC XI ?

    Fleming maybe!

Tendulkar seems to have played the BD series with his injury. Now who would refuse some cheap runs? He is just getting more and more irritating!
