Australian xenophobia greets Thorpe
Graham Thorpe's decision to turn out for NSW, albeit primarily in a coaching role, has not been greeted too well 'Down Under'.
Steve Waugh's gut reaction was 'Why do we need an effing Pom to teach us?' but after analyzing the situation, he comes to the conclusion that Thorpe's success depends on how intensely he approaches the job, shares his experience and changes the perceptions about English cricket.
Geoff Lawson and Greg Matthews are totally bemused and are quite emphatic that NSW don't need Thorpe.
