    Dinesh Mongia celebrates recall

Dinesh Mongia has been turning out for county sides quite often over the past 2-3 years (Lancashire in 2004 and Leicestershire in 2005 & this season). Out of the blue, he was picked for two games against Pakistan last year and then dropped after scores of 33 (Kanpur) and 0 (New Delhi).

He has now been recalled for the triangular series rain tournament in Sri Lanka. As already divulged earlier, Sachin Tendulkar is back. So is RP Singh, by the way. In any case, I consciously avoided writing "Tendulkar's back" for fear that the moment I wrote those, there'd be a report of some old back injury flaring up again.

Back to Dinesh though. He's really been celebrating, the lad. He scored an amazing, spectacular & rapid-fire single, off 26 balls - no less, in Leicestershire's on-going fixture against Derbyshire.

Then again, merely playing county cricket doesn't earn you a recall, as Zaheer Khan and Sourav Ganguly have found out.
