    Hyperbole, thy name is Boof!

Darren Lehmann, sacked from Australia's side early last year, and the man who, figuratively speaking, won the 1999 World Cup for Australia, reckons that he has seen the future of Australian cricket and that his name is Mark Cosgrove, nearly 22 years old.

In a statement that is sure to attract criticism and plaudits, he said that Cosgrove had the ability to win the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies. Given the frequent comments on Australia's side being an aging one, I'm sure the selectors are already looking at other talent.

But they will be wary of exposing Mark Cosgrove to international cricket too soon. After all, they did almost burn their fingers with Michael Clarke, who was brought into the test side in India and won the Allan Border medal, but hasn't scored a century for 15 tests and a half century for four tests.
