    Reflections on Lehmann's dumping

Malcolm Conn reflects on Darren Lehmann's sacking by Australia's selectors.

Peter Roebuck feels that David Hookes' death certainly affected Lehmann's game but ultimately the selectors decided based on the fact that he wasnt putting up the numbers on the board.

Close on the heels of Harbhajan claiming credit for Hayden's poor form, the Kiwis have now declared that they caused Lehmann's exclusion since they were able to bowl well to him. Perhaps that is why he averaged "only" 44 in the tests and 51 in the one-dayers.

I shudder to think of what Boof's stats would have been if the Kiwis' plans had not worked!
