    Tendulkar out, who'll be in?

Now that Sachin Tendulkar has ruled himself out of the test series leg of the West Indies tour due to the shoulder injury not healing sufficiently, the next question is 'Who then?'

This test series will be the second major series he will completely miss. Tendulkar missed the tour of Sri Lanka in 2001, the first two tests against Australia in 2004 [he did play at Nagpur where he barely did anything of note and batted beautifully in the second innings at the Wankhede] and missed the action on and off the field in Zimbabwe.

Will Tendulkar's absence be the lifeline for Sourav Ganguly? While my heart says yes, my head says an emphatic no.

Who do you think should come into the squad? Vote in the poll!

At this point in time, I think Ganguly has a much better chance of getting into the test side than the one-day side. The one-day side is doing much better, which means there is really no need for his skills. Given the batting collapses in tests, he's probably of more use there.
