I usually don't hold much opinion on commentary teams, as long as they are within the realm of tolerable (which, for me, is pretty high). But this time around, Indian representation for the series is really pathetic. Having to listen to Siva's irritating and completely insight-less rants (after filtering out the cliches and very rare takes on spin techniques) as the only represenation of Indian perspective on such a long and important tour...well the tour's going to be a tough one for us at home too.
I do remember BCCI had mentioned 'quality' and 'commentary team' in the same sentence at the time of floating a tender. Going by the indicators so far, the quality curve is in a mad tumble downwards (although I do realise that Siva in WI may not have been in BCCI's control directly).
But atleast we have a match at hand....or so it seems as of now...45 over game to start with, further interruptions and shortening not ruled out, though.
