What level of the ICC code of conduct has Ponting breached?

When asked about Harbhajan slapping Sreesanth, Ricky Ponting, hardly the type to let one go outside offstump, was quoted in the Courier Mail as saying
The (slapping) incident was him dealing with a guy that he has probably played 20 Tests with. After this latest issue in India, I think people should be making their own judgments about Harbhajan. He has again done something wrong.
He then pointed out how Harbhajan had got away with a 50% fine despite being accused of a racist remark.
It certainly wasn't the outcome that we expected," he said. "He ended up being fined 50 per cent of his match fee. As it is I will cop a 20-30 per cent match fee fine most one-day games because I am behind in the over rates.
Ponting's comment on the outcome of Judge Hansen's hearing is public criticism of a match-related event and the outcome of a related hearing. The ICC Code of conduct deals with such comments, and there are two types of penalties prescribed for breaches of the code. So, which one has Ponting breached and will he be hauled up?

I think you should rename your blog - the anti Aussie cricket blog or anti ponting blog because you're usually, with good reason, mouthing off against the Aussies.

I have been a regular reader of your blog and the quality of coverage, writing and analysis has dropped appreciably.

gargorama, Ganesh is not anti aussie but just mentioning that aussies are getting away from ICC reprimands and punishments.

But what he is suggesting is for players to just go bat/bowl/field and not to utter a word in press. That is not going to happen and even though this quote can be attributed as criticism, it can be proved that is actually not.

I think you're clutching at straws just a tad Jagadish...

You can only divert attention from Harbhajan for so long...

gargorama: I just pointed out how Ponting violated the code of conduct and wondered aloud about the action that'd be taken. I've earlier posted data on the number of times various teams have been hauled up before refs and the results of their visits to the ref's rooms.

dragon: If that is the case, then what needs to be changed is the code of conduct. There's an existing rule, it needs to apply to all, equally. When the rule changes, obviously things are different.

stu: I'm more than happy if we can deport Harbhajan to Australia. Can we get Warne to come back to intl cricket, and play for India? :)
