Australia vs England - Second Test - Day 2

Brilliant day for Collingwood and Pietersen - they've now batted Australia out of this match but in doing so, have they batted England out of it as well? The declaration by Flintoff was beautifully timed, giving Australia a nasty 9 over session. This was enough to see the loss of Langer for just 4 off a typical ripper from Flintoff - and probably justifyied the lack of aggression earlier in the day. It is still hard to see England bowling Australia out twice in three days on this track, but another couple of wickets in the first session tomorrow and I think we'll all (Aussies that is) be quite worried. Could we be in for another heart stopping draw.

One also gets the feeling that if Ponting and Hayden (the infamous flat track bully) stick around for as long as Pietersen and Collingwood did, it could be England with a nastry little run chase (save) on Day 5 against Warne on a wearing wicket...now that optimistic, wishful Aussie thinking for ya!

There's a lot to like about Collingowood - gutsy, classy, unassuming and quality. As one eyed as I am, it was near impossible not to feel pleased for him as he bought up that ton this morning - just wish he could've buggered off a little quicker after that though...
