Andy Thornhill reports in The Daily Nation that there seems to be a battle of one-upmanship brewing between the WICB selectors and Brian Lara.
While Lara was spot on in terms of requiring someone with more pace to put India's batsmen, who've scored 500 in two consecutive innings, Andy isn't so spot on when he talks about West Indies' bowling attack.
It is debatable whether the present breed of speedsters is in the same league as those of past vintage but that is even more reason to give them more help than normal.Debatable? Yeah right!
Read out these names: Roberts, Holding, Marshall, Croft, Garner, Walsh and Ambrose. How do you feel?
Now say these names: Edwards, Best, Taylor, Collins, Bradshaw and Collymore. How do you feel?
