    How tough is it?

Exactly how tough would it be to become Australia's best ever off-spinner when the best ever to date would be Ashley Mallett (132 wickets, 38 tests, avg 29, sr 76)? Isn't it a bit like someone hailing some new West Indies leggie as having the potential to be West Indies' best ever leg-spinner?

In any case, that is the sort of expectation Terry Jenner has of Dan Cullen, who made his test debut for Australia yesterday in the second test against Bangladesh.

With Warne and MacGill playing as well, I can't really remember the last time Australia went into a test match with three spinners - perhaps sometime in the 1930s when Charlie Grimmett was joined by Tiger O'Reilly?

pamthree: MacGill, Miller and Robertson in the third test? That can't be a correct answer, for Miller's primary role was as an opening bowler along with McGrath. I know he did bowl his offbreaks, but he was picked as someone who could do both, not just as a spinner.
