    Supremedulkar!

I had the pleasure of watching the little master bat at Lahore a few hours ahead of Valentine's day and it certainly revived my old love - a mad fanatic for Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. To me, there are only two men on earth who would have handled that rattling spell from Asif and Gul. Unfortunately for Pakistan and fortunately for cricket lovers, those two were out there in the middle playing the best possible innings under the given conditions. It was a wonderful exhibition of seam bowling by the young lads. Tendulkar in the company of Dravid, showed why he is the best batsman in the planet by playing and leaving in sublime fashion. Dravid committed suicide after calming the storm, but the master refused to give up and played one of the best innings many have ever seen though he was a bit ill-fated not to enter the 40s in the centuries column. It was Tendulkar's genius which made us stay in the game which was later won by Yuvraj's maturity and Dhoni's aggression.

Probably the criticisms at the end of the Test loss in Karachi has resurrected the little genius and he has scores of 100, 42 and 95 after that. Having seen those three innings, what hurts me most is that why does he need such harsh criticism for a revival? He is such a class act that he can do whatever he wishes on a cricket field. Then, why does he not win more matches for India? As many have already written, no one is able to digest failures from the master and hence the criticisms are also loftier.

He may still fail again badly, but the class in his blood will remain forever. It will all go down to the grave with him - the class and also the pain of not being able get more wins for India.
