Familiarity all set to breed contempt between Sri Lanka and India

In order to make up for the aborted April series, Sri Lanka and India have agreed to play three tests and seven one-dayers when India play hosts in November. New Zealand and Australia played each other so ridiculously often recently.

Surely, they're making up for lost time. It has been nearly eight years since Sri Lanka visited India. It does seem like India-Sri Lanka series occur in bursts. If you ignore the 2001 series, in 1997 alone, the two teams played each other over five tests and seven one-dayers in Sri Lanka and India, including the Asia Cup.

Watch out for the battle between the two new coaches.
