ICC announces several key decisions after Executive Board meeting in India

The ICC has, following its executive board meeting, decided on evaluating a six year window for the test and one-day championships.

Among the other decisions taken are to scrap the sub-category of "ODI member". This would mean that Kenya would be relegated to the ranks of an Associate member. Would it need to qualify for the 2007 World Cup? The ICC also wants the Indian government to confirm by May 2005 if tax exemption would be granted to the tournament. I think it can go take a hike. As it is, Indian companies and Indian subsidiaries of multi-nationals are the ones bringing in most of the moolah for the ICC through sponsorships. Why should India grant tax concessions for an event which is definitely going to be profitable?

Yet another strange decision is to declare the Super Series games official. Ehsan Mani's tenure has now been extended by a year. It is interesting that the release says "current ICC President's term" rather than "ICC President's term". Does this mean that Percy Sonn, who is very likely to take over from Mani, will not have a three year term? Why?

They did not take the most important decision - whether Steve Bucknor should be fed to the lions or decapacitated.
