Rudi joins Bucknor in World Cup wishlist

First, it was Steve Bucknor. Now it is Rudi Koertzen.

Last year, when Bucknor was asked if he'd like to stand in his fifth World Cup final and his reply was a fairly resounding "Yes". Unfortunately, that'd only be possible if the West Indies side fails to reach the final.

Now, Rudi Koertzen, acclaimed by the ICC for standing in his 150th one-dayer, does South Africa a huge disfavour by claiming that he wants to stand in the 2007 World Cup final
I was third umpire in 2003 and I probably have one more chance to get there (in the West Indies in 2007) so I'll be working very hard for what would be the ultimate achievement in my career
Rudi, you do realize the South African boys aren't going to be too happy about that statement, don't you?

hahahahaha! good point. By that logic, I also hope that Daryl Hair or Simon Taufel are nurturing such hopes!

scribbler: Definitely hope so. Perhaps it is good for India if no Indian umpire is named in the WC umpires panel :)
