Andre Nel injures foot while glaring at ice-cream shop owner

South Africa is now in serious danger of playing the VB Series with a second-string side. They're already without Ntini and also have injury problems with Kallis, Kemp and Prince. Now, Andre Nel is also injured, with a cracked bone in his foot.

The South African team management has refused to confirm eyewitness accounts of the actual incident which caused the injury. Reports from Brisbane, where South Africa play their first game against Australia on Sunday, suggest that the incident happened when Andre Nel bought a few scoops of ice-cream at a Baskin-Robbins outlet and came out of the shop. Without any provocation, he then kept glaring at the owner and in order to keep glaring at him, started walking backwards on the road while constantly mouthing abuses and giving him a piece of his mind. He then tripped over a pavement and thus broke his foot.

As a precautionary measure after this latest injury, South Africa are keeping coach Mickey Arthur under wraps, lest he put his foot into his mouth, again.

Justice well served. No match referees seem to reprimand him despite the way he abuses batsman openly! So here he gets his due:-)

I couldn't be more happy for there is no player I despise as much as Andre Nel. He lacks the sporting spirit.

minal: Ha ha, I don't think he deserved it. But watching his antics is a pain. But it can get hilarious sometimes because you have absolutely no clue what he's doing out there and why!
