Giles unlikely to be left out, on track to fulfill prediction

Even as England ponder playing four seamers and leaving out one spinner, given Ashley Giles' "seniority", it is highly likely that Shaun Udal will miss out at Lahore. Yesterday, England managed to hang on long enough on the final day of the Faisalabad test for the bad light to end the day's play and will now obviously look at drawing the series in the final test.

While England's performance, especially their second innings collapses and the way they bowled to Pakistan's tailenders yesterday, would really disappoint them, the good news for us Ashley Giles fans is that he is still on track to end the series with a bowling average around 60 and a strike rate in excess of 90.

His stats currently read 3 wickets at 82.3 each and a strike rate of 150. Having tripled his overall wicket tally on the second day at Faisalabad, he threatened to make me eat my words again. But a superlative performance in the second innings where he failed to pick up a wicket gave me a breather.

I cannot wait for the Lahore test to end. Go! My hero!
