Gillespie, Hayden, Kasprowicz, Martyn dropped from Australia's Super Series squads

Despite Steve Waugh's cautioning against a knee-jerk response to the loss against England, the Australian selectors, in a fairly predictable move, axed Gillespie and Kasprowicz from the test and one-day sides to take on the Rest of the World side in October.

Michael Hussey, James Hopes, Shane Watson and Nathan Bracken, who are currently touring Pakistan as members of the 'A' side have been included. It does seem as though Australia are starting a "rebuilding" process beginning with the Super Series games.

I am not a big fan of Martyn, but I think the wrong chap has been chosen as the fall guy. Hayden's inclusion in the test side is purely because of his century at The Oval.

I think that century may ultimately prove detrimental to Australia because he was clearly out-thought by the opposition. Until the last test, Martyn and Hayden had fairly identical numbers. Admittedly, Hayden's century did give Australia a chance, but it was far too late in the context of the way the series panned out.
