Windies take first day honours against South Africa
Both Wavell Hinds (188*) and new skipper Chanderpaul (102*) hit centuries and shared an unbroken 241-run partnership to put West Indies in control at 347 for 3 after a rain-affected first day's play in the first Test at Georgetown. It was a phenomenal day for West Indies considering the problems they are in. South Africa could feel a bit happy that there is no Mr. Brian Lara in the opposition lineup as Andre Nel took all the three wickets for South Africa though they tried 7 different bowlers in the 80.5 overs they bowled.
