Miscreant throws stone at Pakistan team outside Ranchi airport

A stone, thrown by an obvious spoilsport, narrowly missed Inzamam shortly after the team bus came out of Ranchi airport. The team is on its way to play in the third one-dayer at Jamshedpur. When you're 2-0 down, you dont want to be distracted by things like this.

The Pakistani team is also unhappy with having to play one-dayers at so many venues, mostly at remote locations, spread throughout the country. They must remember that India is a country seven times bigger than their own. They did play tests at Mohali, Calcutta and Bangalore, which are by no stretch of imagination small places. The places where the one-dayers are being played are typically the biggest cities in the respective states.

Pakistan doesnt have as many test or one-day centres as India does. Thats why Lahore got three games while Rawalpindi got two when India visited Pakistan last year. In addition, the local cricket associations in India tend to have a significant say in the BCCI through their votes, a situation unlike that in the PCB where the officials are mostly nominated by the Pakistani President.

And most importantly, their board agreed to the schedule and the venues. This "protest at scheduling" syndrome is quite popular nowadays.

Pak manager Saleem Altaf said "We were scheduled to have a nets session on Thursday in preparation for the third one-day international in Jamshedpur on Saturday. But after this incident Inzamam suggested we cancel the nets and allow the boys to take complete rest for the day," !!!!

Hmm..so Pak team would stay indoors instead of parctising when the stadium is (relatively) empty. For....mmm...security reasons ??? And play safely to a packed house on Saturday :-)

I mean, come-one....it was bad and all...but just a stone throwing ! Its happened during live match....and not only in India.
