Breaking/Brief news

    June 25, 2004

Stephen Fleming has complained about the scheduling for the NatWest Series. He is unhappy with the double-header weekend games. He must realize that it isnt the ECB's fault that the schedule is such. The NZC obviously agreed to the schedule. They are to blame for the Kiwis' suffering. This isnt the first time he's griped about something like this. Last year, he was critical of the BCCI during the TVS Cup where the early morning starts for NZ-Australia games meant that the bowlers had a huge advantage. I point the readers to not one but three ramblings of mine last year on why Fleming shouldnt be complaining.
New Zealand didnt adapt to the conditions, which were similar to those they'd find in sheepland.
The bowlers were indisciplined even on good bowling wickets and half of the batting lineup was in the pavillion by the 25th over.
Stop whining about doctored pitches and get on with the game.
