Breaking/Brief news

    June 22, 2004

Ganguly shoots his mouth off yet again on the opener issue. This time he says that Sehwag's opening partner will be decided based on all the onedayers India plays this year. That is about the dumbest argument that anyone can give. So it effectively means that Chopra will not be the test opener later this season because he hasnt played the onedayers. If Yuvraj performs poorly in the middle-order in the onedayers, can that [and should it] be held against him opening in tests? Or is there a move to have Yuvraj open in the onedayers as well to assess how he performs as an opener, albeit in ODIs?
