Cricket 24x7 - All the cricket

Breaking/Brief news

    December 10, 2004

Yousuf Youhana will forever remember with dismay the fact that he is Mark Richardson's only test wicket. If Youhana was hoping that someone else would join him in that elite list, he was in for a disappointment as Richardson announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, again including book cricket, today.

Soon after the Australia series, Richardson had indicated that he was considering his cricketing future. New Zealand will miss someone who averaged 44 with the bat and 21 with the ball, which makes him a far superior all-rounder than Sir Richard Hadlee. BBC Cricket looks back at some of his best moments.
