Famous moustaches in Australian cricket
For the past few days, the Cricket Australia website's "Cricket cares" section has been updated with a list of (17 so far) mustachioed personalities of Australian cricket, including Greg Dyer, John Buchanan, etc.
I'm sure the likes of Lillee, the Chappell brothers, David Boon & Merv Hughes will end up somewhere near the top of the list. Perhaps there could even be a spot for Adam Hollioake, given he was born in Australia!
The whole thing is part of a month-long 'Movember' (Mo's in November, geddit?) initiative to raise awareness about men's health, specifically prostrate cancer and depression.
I don't know about the prostrate cancer part, but, and this is without any intention of trivializing depression, if I were an Aussie cricket fan, I'd surely be in a depression after the loss to India.
As if on cue, first New Zealand and then South Africa land up to assume their roles as the whipping boys, in much the the same manner as the ICC World XI in 2005 during the 'Super Series'.
