My prediction for Australia's XI for the first test

Simon Katich opened the batting, after Phil Jaques was left out for the warm-up match against the Board President's XI side. So he will almost definitely open the batting with Hayden.

Jason Krejza's performance outing (0/123 from 20 overs & 0/76 from 11 overs) was obviously a bit of a shock to the system.

As a result of these two developments, I think Australia will go in for a 4-man quick bowling attack supported by left-arm spin twins (Katich & Clarke).

I think Australia's XI will be: Hayden, Jaques, Ponting (c), Clarke, Hussey, Katich, Watson, Haddin (wk), Lee, Johnson & Clark.

But, if Watson cuts himself badly while shaving, Krejza or White will play.

There's a different prediction you can vote for in the poll - What will the result of the series be?
