    Dougie should have known

Brad Hogg smashed Dougie Brown for 24 runs off the final over of Australia's innings in their nail-biting 203-run victory today.

Brown, for one, shouldn't have been surprised. Although not normally known as a batsman, Hogg played several blistering innings in the same Warwickshire team as Brown when he was their overseas player in 2004, the year they won the title.

Hogg finished the season with 706 first-class runs at 70, including 158 off 163 balls against Surrey, part of which was made in partnership with Dougie Brown. In list A matches, he scored 467 runs at 39, at a strike rate of over 100, which included a brutal 94 (61) against Northants. Dougie Brown took five wickets in the Northants reply.
