    Boof Lehmann does it again

Darren Lehmann today showed once again his demise in Test cricket was premature, with 99 against the touring English side. It should give the Aussie batsman confidence though. There has been a big score against the English bolwers in every outing so far.

Tait has also struck early, to do his chances no harm. He'll need another 5 or so tomorrow you'd think to get ahead of the others. (Scorecard is here.)

Mr. Sutherland thinks there's nothing racist about being called "stupid Indian". Seriously, what do you guys smoke?

I think Sutherland has been misquoted. I believe what he actually said was "There is no such thing as a stupid Indian". But the media, in their over-eagerness quoted him as "There is no such racist phrase as 'stupid Indian'".

Actually, I don't think 'stupid' is a racist comment. If 'Pommie bastard' isn't, then 'stupid Indian' isn't. Cricket Australia decided that 'Pommie bastard' wasn't abusive. I hope Monty told that chap in the crowd that he was 'a drunk Aussie'!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/england/6157794.stm the link gives a clearer explaination on why "Pommie bastard" is is racist.

The article also quotes Mr. Sutherland claiming "stupid Indian" as not "too racist" whatever that implies. Clearly the BBC (and cricinfo, for that matter) wouldn't have published the quotes had he not uttered them.
