Boje omitted from South Africa's squad
Despite Nicky Boje expressing his keenness to play in India, and backtracking on his earlier defiant stand, the South African cricket board selectors omitted him from the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in India.
The interesting thing is that so far, there's been no indication that Boje was injured. So he's either been dropped, not entirely unlikely since he has averaged 48 per wicket and taken a wicket every 63 balls against teams other than Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in his last 20 games, or he's been conveniently ignored, thereby corroborating Herschelle Gibbs' revelation last month.
Ja, you see, Nicky's situation is slightly different, because I don't think he's going to be playing in India again; he's not going to be in the squad. So he doesn't really have much. for him it's more a case of clearing his name than anything else.Other ICC Champions Trophy squads: Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Bangladesh, India, Australia and Pakistan.
