Sourav Ganguly: AWOL?
Just to shoot off on an extremely tangential subject, very far away from current bones of contention, I have absolutely no idea why Sourav Ganguly, named among India's 30 probables for the ICC Champions Trophy, hasn't turned up to play for Northamptonshire for nearly a month now.
The last time he played for Northants was a County Championship game against Essex, scoring 9 when just about everyone else got runs. After that, there's been absolutely no news about him!

Saurav's contract with Northants was for 5 weeks....got over just after that game you referred to. He shud be back in Kolkata...although I do seem to remember reading somewhere him being quoted from Singapore...on vacation or some such :-)
And btw...as for his scores...he flopped terribly in twenty20 (which is not that big a deal) and also in county games. But he did make 74 in his only C&G limited overs game. So..? ;-))

thanks worma. That explains his absence. His bowling in Twenty20 wasn't too bad either! So maybe he's good enough to bat in _one_ innings of a 50 over game and bowl 4 overs in a Twenty20 game :)
