    Rain spoils Astle's 200th ODI

Nathan Astle's 200th ODI turned out to be just a 20-over affair with rains interfering at Durban. Smith won the toss and decided to bat first to help his bowlers use the late evening conditions under the lights. Rains started to pour in just as the Kiwis finished 20 overs when South Africa had lost their openers and scored 79 runs with Kallis and Prince beginning to take control. The rain not only did ruin the landmark ODI for Astle, but also put an end to South Africa's streak of 12 ODI wins. South Africa have already wrapped up the series 3-0 and now the visitors have just one more chance to take back some pride - the last ODI of this 5 match series would be played on Sunday at Centurion.
