No coach, no captain in Indian cricket, everyone gets to speculate

With Ganguly's future uncertain and the ball set rolling only recently to pick India's coach, it is obvious that there's a lot of chaos in Indian cricket right now.

Steve Waugh puts in a word for Tom Moody. He also feels that Srinath should be made bowling coach.

Meanwhile Moody, who has been allowed to attend the interview by Worcestershire, feels that he can take the team to the next level. I wonder why he, or any of the other contenders for that matter, says 'next level' rather than 'next higher level'. Maybe its deliberate. Hidden agenda! The foreign hand! Oh well!

Rohit Brijnath feels that a change of coach and captain may not necessarily put Indian cricket back on track. They need a change in attitude, perhaps that extra 1% desire to improve.

Rajaraman compares the main contenders, Chappell & Moody, and seems to indicate that Chappell will prevail. He also mentions that Gavaskar was in favour of Allan Border, who quit as Australia's selector last month.

Anand writes about a sense of parochialism in the minds of some commentators, former cricketers and indeed, one of the contenders himself.
