Younis Khan promoted and Arshad Khan recalled in Pakistan's test squad

Things finally started moving on the India-Pakistan series front over the weekend as Pakistan named the squad for the series. The BCCI announced the schedule with the first test beginning on March 8th and the last one-dayer being played at New Delhi on April 17th.

There is, not surprisingly, no place for Moin Khan but its strange that he mentioned Arshad Khan even before the side was announced. Perhaps he had inside information? Arshad, the tall off-spinner, makes a comeback after three years while Younis Khan has been made vice-captain. I wonder where that leaves Yousuf Youhana, who had a pretty good series with the bat in Australia.

Shoaib Akhtar, who will be missing the series, feels that Pakistan will be mentally strong after the good performance in Australia and that they have the ability to win in spite of him not being around.

Wasim Akram supports Arshad Khan's inclusion and is convinced that Shoaib made the right decision about withdrawing so that the injury would not get aggravated.

Danish Kaneria tempts fate, along with the likes of Sehwag, Ganguly, Tendulkar and Laxman, by claiming that Dravid is the only Indian batsman who bothered him. This canary could be singing a different tune by the end of the series. I wonder who told him Yuvraj and Kaif would be playing! Perhaps inside information again?
