Streaker, crowd disturbances fail to curb Australia

Australia sneaked home past New Zealand in a thriller on Saturday with McGrath returning the astounding figures of 4/16 in 9.4 overs as New Zealand failed to make 237. The match was marred by crowds throwing cans on the field, spitting at players and a lot of barracking. Several Australian players complained that the crowds in New Zealand were the worst in the world along with South African crowds. Ricky Ponting has asked for better security to prevent these situations from becoming worse. Apparently McGrath was called a "wanker". I'm amazed Aussies took offence to that, considering that their crowds dished out the same treatment to Hadlee!

Kiwi coach John Bracewell however felt that Australia's move at stopping play for a while, apparently protesting against the crowd's behaviour, was meant at slowing down the pace of the game since at that time New Zealand were catching up rapidly thanks to Hamish Marshall and Craig McMillan.

Billy Bowden is under fire after his performance in the game, where several decisions went in Australia's favour, again!

Glenn McGrath's amazing performance was marred by the insulting news that he has now become only the second quick bowler to get a stumping in ODIs. This is how Gilchrist and McGrath celebrated.
