John Wright to quit after Pakistan series?

In a huge blow to Indian cricket, coach John Wright suggests that he may not be keen to renew his contract when it comes up for renewal after the series against Pakistan. He is unwilling to sign a contract which would last until the 2007 World Cup. It would be a huge blow for India if he quit for he has been one of the pillars around with the Indian team has progressed over the past 4-5 years. The BCCI must do everything it can to ensure that he doesnt quit. Even crucially, the BCCI needs to identify or develop someone to take over from him when he does quit. Half-baked adhoc arrangements like Sunil Gavaskar or someone else helping out just cannot be acceptable.

Former England quick Frank Tyson opines on what the demands on India's coach typically are and who the contenders are, if Wright decides to quit.
