    Australia canter to victory

Australia won the third and final test against Pakistan at Melbourne with a lot of ease, by 9 wickets, to be precise. Pakistan resumed their second innings from 67/1 and if only two of their top-order batsmen had converted their 40s and 60s into centuries, they could have ended up around 450. Instead they ended up at 325, which meant Australia had to make 62 runs for a series win. Justin Langer, as if motivated by a previous column here, smashed a boundary-laden 34 in just 30 deliveries. And promptly got out with four runs to get, which Ponting duly obliged.
