Cricket 24x7 - All the cricket

Breaking/Brief news

    December 21, 2004

The moment Australia whip a team much more comfortably than was expected, they all start wondering if this is hurting test cricket. I wonder if they'd have been as cocky if they'd not won in India. It is an undeniable fact that they are among the best teams of all time. Yet, it is hard to believe that they are unbeatable. Several teams have shown over the past couple of years that it is possible. Players retire, systems change, other teams become better. Sport is a continuously evolving process.

Of course, just wishing that the team becomes better isnt going to work for any cricket side. The processes need to be put in place to produce top quality cricketers who play well for 12-15 years. That is what Australia did and that is what everyone else needs to do. Those who are hungry for success will bite the bullet.
