    Australia ended day one of the Madras test on the defensive. First they were bowled out for 235 courtesy a superb bowling effort of 7/48 by Kumble who was well supported by Harbhajan. India closed at 28/1 with Yuvraj out in the last over of the day, helping Warne draw level with Murali. Australia slumped from 136/0 to 235 all out in the course of 38 overs after the lunch break.
