The Right Reverend Lord David Sheppard dies

David Stuart Sheppard, Wisden Cricketer of the year 1953 and England's captain in a couple of tests, perished to cancer on March 5, 2005, just a day before his 76th birthday. He is not related to a pudgy umpire who goes by a similar sounding name. Read John Woodcock's tribute.
