    Symonds at the crossroads

Andrew Symonds, who revived his international career with a superb 143 made with Australia tottering on 86/4 against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup, now reveals that he was very close to quitting cricket and switching to rugby league. That innings though changed his career for the better, until his confidence was dented after not being given enough test match opportunities after his debut against Sri Lanka. Now, in his last five one-day international innings, he has scored four ducks. With Clarke in tremendous form, and Lehmann scoring vital runs in the win against Pakistan, the pressure mounts on Symonds to deliver. And deliver soon.
