Breaking/Brief news

    December 28, 2004

Shoaib Malik has been asked to not bowl until he sorts out his action after he was reported for chucking a couple of months ago. This, and Razzaq's non-availability greatly affected Pakistan as they let Australia take control of the MCG test taking a 38 run lead and then reducing Pakistan to 85/5 at close of day three.

Damien Martyn sparkled with yet another century, this one was 142. He got great support from the worst pain-in-the-arse for all non-Australian bowlers currently, Jason Gillespie who made his second test fifty. Pakistan promptly pressed the self-destruct button in the second innings losing wickets very regularly. After Youhana's and Akhtar's heroics on the first two days, it is sad that the result is very likely a foregone conclusion.
