Breaking/Brief news

    November 10, 2004

Bowlers (if I may call them so) like Muralitharan, Akhtar and Shoaib Malik can feel very happy after the latest ICC study on bowlers' actions.

Rather than doing all these studies and coming out with shocking results like even Pollock, Ambrose, Hadlee, etc. didn't confine to the arm-straightening-limit, the ICC can as well empower the umpires to call a no-ball, if in his opinion the bowler had chucked that particular delivery. Its always better for the umpire to see if he chucked with naked eyes than going with science as just one ball being chucked could ruin a career. Also, this provides a loophole for the chuckers who can bowl too, to bowl properly and also chuck a few deliveries inbetween and walk away with 4fers & 5fers.
