England's squad for the one-dayers in Zimbabwe was announced yesterday. As expected, Flintoff and Harmison were not part of the touring party. Trescothick chose to take rest and that means Matt Prior will open. Even though reports suggest that Ashley Giles was given the option to pull out and take a rest, it is reliably learnt that the selectors had conveyed to Michael Vaughan, a little too much in advance as it turned out, the need for Ashley Giles to be rested. Vaughan misunderstood the diktat or took it far too much at face value and promptly rested Giles' bowling arm during the ICC Champions Trophy final last week.
