Cricket 24x7 - All the cricket

Breaking/Brief news

    July 18, 2004

ICC president Ehsan Mani is not happy about a TV channel using Azharuddin as its special commentator. Bizarrely though, when the ICC never objected to attempts by Cronje to ensure that he could earn a living by doing commentary or coaching or something related to cricket or a statement by the then UCB President Percy Sonn that while Cronje was banned from UCB related activities, there was always the possibility of rehabiliting him in future. Even more farcically, the ICC had a meek 'The two cases are not related' reply when questioned about how the ACB allowed Shane Warne to carry on with commentary while he was banned at the start of the 2003 World Cup. Perhaps it is another case of differential (or preferential) treatment?
